Ok, so I just bought a '79 2-door that has the front passenger fender damaged. I've never dealt with these before since my last '79 was close to mint and never wrecked. My question is, what fenders are interchangeable. Do I have to have 77-79 or will the later fenders fit? 4-door fenders the same? Just trying to get a jumpstart on this. Also, the front bumper is from an 80 and up and of course I want the '79 "straight-across" bumper. Are these pretty much the same 77-79? Thanks for any help.

Re: Front Fenders/Front Bumper
I know the 80's models have the same mounting locations as the 77-79's, but the body lines wont match up, and i wouldnt recommend it. Theoretically it would fit, but wouldnt look right at all. Same for the bumper, your kinda stuck with only using 77-79 parts, were a class all on our own which kind of sucks since parts are so hard to find.

Re: Front Fenders/Front Bumper
Yeah, I thought as much. Even when I had my other one 10 years ago, parts were hard to find. Nice to know nothing has changed there. I'd give anything for that NOS grille I bought and installed on my other one. So, just to confirm, the fenders are all the same 77-79 including the 4-door cars? I may be able to repair the fender that's on it, but I'm not sure yet. Saturday can't get here fast enough so I can get this baby home and get a closer look at things.

Re: Front Fenders/Front Bumper
Yup, 2 door, 4 door, wagon all use the same fenders from 77-79. I find it funny that so many of these cars were made, yet you can hardly find one these days, and can hardly find parts for them, there is no aftermarket for them. Sure mechanically you can find parts all day, and these cars will run and last forever, but were all on our own for everthing else. I got a buddy of mine that gets loads of parts.for the b bodies and hes actually a member on here, he just never gets on. Ill ask him if he can get any parts you might need, his name on here is capriceroc. He usally has good hard to find parts for sale on ebay, ill post a link to his ebay page tomorrow.

Hey thanks! I'll keep an eye on the page. As soon as I get this car home tomorrow, I'm going to make a list of everything it NEEDS and go from there.

Re: Front Fenders/Front Bumper
They fit well minus the mounting holes they were slightly off but they still fit, and quality is pretty good, i mean theyre 22 bucks, what can you expect, but they do look better than the corroded peeling original ones

Re: Front Fenders/Front Bumper
I saw those above fenders earlier this week, but no shipping. I'm not too keen on a drive to Connecticut if I don't have to. WOW, those headlight bezels are a GREAT price. I'll definitely be getting a set of those real soon. Thanks for the link. I had no idea they had those. Too bad they don't have the front corner bezels and rear taillight bezels too!

Re: Front Fenders/Front Bumper
Don't worry, I'll find one for you. I still have all the original off the last car since I put stainless "flat" trim on it. I had a company custom make that for me since they only made if for 4-doors. Looks like they still don't make it for a 2-door cars, so if I decide to put the flat stainless on there again, I'll definitely have another one. Trouble is, the one you need that's on the burgundy car, some idiot put screws through it on the front side. However, I'm positive I have the little pieces from the other car somewhere, I just have to dig for them. I found the long ones, but not the small ones which is odd. Maybe I put them in a box by themselves. I've slept too many times since then, so I don't remember.GM B-Body Forum wrote:Oh boy, if you get those fenders, save that front fender moulding piece for me! but otherwise this is a nice set, and id get them asap! Re: Front Fenders/Front Bumper
Welcome to the forum! No one makes any aftermarket bezels, except for classic industries and they only offer them for the 79 caprice(weird, but works for me since i have a 79 caprice) you really just have to keep an eye on ebay and look for NOS ones.
