Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
Yea, me too. So who's going to take one for the team and buy it? Okay, maybe I will.

The crowd chants: do it... do it... do it....
If it's still a POS, you could always return it?

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
Im really interested in fabbing one of these up myself. I will go to Lowes today and see what kinda vinyl baseboard trim I can find. When I first got my Bel Air the bumper filler was intact with only a fiew cracks, now its completly gone.
I wonder how many years these things lasted from new anyways and yes Im also quite curious about that new repop piece from RP or CI but who wants to spend $$ on something thats crap!

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
I had one that lasted from 79 to 2005 or 6 before it crumbled away into nothingness.
A while back, and again recently, I was in contact with a couple injection molding manufacturers to see about having new ones made. To my shock, they each wanted upwards of 30K just to make the mold(s) !! Then there was a minimum run of 1000 pieces on top of that. Yikes! As much as I'd love to see new fillers on everybodys cars, that's a bit too pricey for me.

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
Its funny how such a simple body trim part is giving us B car owners such grief!
Just curious has anyone ever found one of these NOS or used? Not that it would be any good tho lol...

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
10 or so years ago they were pretty easy to find new and used. Today, forget it.

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
I still need to go to Lowe's myself and see if I can find what I used over 10 years ago on my first car. Every time I look at the pics I posted in the beginning of this thread, it just looks good. I guess if I were closer to that point in my build, I'd be all over it, but it's hard to get motivated especially when there's now 4 inches of snow on the ground.lol

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
Really?? Only ten or so years ago, wow wonder where the supply all went?
Makes you wonder if more of these cars are getting restored than we think.

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
The white one in the first picture! That's exactly it!! Nice to know it's still around. I trimmed it narrower and placed the bent edge on the bumper so that it would rise up at an angle under the tailights. Good find! I'll probably use it again one of these years.

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
Has anyone taken the plunge and purchased the rear center bumper filler from Classic Industries yet?

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
I dont think anyone has unfortunately, shoot id just tuck the rear bumper and not have to worry about it, and thats exactly what i did. If you dont want to go all the way in just tuck just enough to cover the center filler. Seems like these repro pieces dont fit well.

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
How much is involved in a rear bumper tuck? I'd be interested if it's not major surgery.

Re: BUMPER FILLER!!!!!!!!!!
Its not major surgery at all, one small hole to release the pressure and hydraulic oil and the bumpers slide in. You can see what i did here: https://www.gmbbodyforum.com/t386-bumper-tuck?highlight=bumper+tuck
