    4L80E Crossmember Empty 4L80E Crossmember

    Hey guys, new to the site. I'm going to be swapping out my 700r4 and putting in a 4L80E. I need some help finding a Transmission cross-member. I have a 1981 Pontiac Bonneville. Has anyone ever done this kind of swap before? Ideas where I can get one?

    4L80E Crossmember Empty 4L80 trans swap

    Check out you length from the front of the bell housing on the 700R4 and compare to the 4L80 as to maybe modifying the older one.

    You might be able to slide the crossmember back some to accommodate.

    I was hoping to use the same mounting position of the bracket to the frame, but move the mounting point of the trans on the bracket.
