Does anybody have a good source for the hood ornament and the chrome trim at the back of the hood (by the cowl) for the 88 style Caprice?

Welcome to the forum! You can get the hood ornaments all day on ebay, or you can order it here:http://www.newgmparts.com/parts/index.cfm?searchText=14010590&make=Chevrolet&action=oePartSearch&siteid=213815
As far as the hood cowl trim, no one makes an after market one, youd have to keep an eye on ebay for one, or your local junkyards. I know the one in the 80's are plastic, and the one on my 79 caprice is stainless steel, im not sure which year they switched over (probably 1980), but try to find one off a 77-79, like i said its stainless steel and wont peel, or look like crap. I also had an 84 caprice and the hood trim was in horrible shape, it was the cheap plastic trim.

Thanks for the welcome, and also the info.
I'm original owner, and the hood ornament is faded and the clear coat peeling off the molding even though it's been garaged most of it's life on the West coast.
I'll give that link a shot, since I've not been lucky enough to catch one on Ebay yet.

Re: Chrome trim for an '88
I seen like 4 on ebay, you cant search for 1988, you have to search for 1980-1985, its the same exact ornament and fits from 1980-1990. Im not sure why some list it as only for 80-85 models, and then some list as for 80-90 models. But the link i sent you is cheaper than the ones for sale on ebay anyway. I also found the trim for the hood here:http://www.newgmparts.com/parts/1988/Chevrolet/Caprice/Classic%20LS%20Brougham?siteid=213815&vehicleid=13591§ion=BODY%20HARDWARE&group=HOOD&subgroup=HOOD%20%26%20COMPONENTS&component=Rear%20molding it says discontinued but it may still be in stock

Re: Chrome trim for an '88
Thanks man, I appreciate the help.
I saw the 'discontinued', and that's what the dealers have been telling me for a few years, and as far as the hood ornament, I was wondering if the up to 85 was diff. than the 88.
THANKS!

Noooo problem!, just check around, there are alot of GM parts places on the web, someone should have one in stock somewhere. And all 80-90 are all the same.
