Heat Riser Valve / Choke on Canadian LG4 Empty Heat Riser Valve / Choke on Canadian LG4

Post  shnalla Mon Oct 12, 2015 6:40 am

    Hi,

On my '84 Caprice with Canadian 305, heat riser valve (on the passenger exhaust manifold) and choke seems to be working the wrong way. Engine is bone stock, with stock Quadrajet (non computer controlled).

When the engine is warm, heat riser valve stay closed. Choke seems to engage and engine idle a bit too high.

I did check the heat riser valve, and it moves by hand.
I'm wondering if the thermal vacuum switch that triggers both choke and EFE valve is still working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Wink

    Regards
