Tire and wheel combination question.

I scored a set of 8 slot corvette aluminum wheels from a '78 before they went to scrap. They are 15x8.

For tires i have 235/60/15 front, and 295/50/15 rear.
As soon as I get a chance to use my buddies tire machine, I'm going to find out how they look on my 77 coupe.
But, until then I'm wondering if anybody has any reason why this is a bad idea for a rim and tire combination.The wheels need much tlc and I'd like to see how everything fits/looks before I clean them up. I wish I could find pictures of these wheels on the car, but no luck.

I don't think that wheel and tire combination should be a problem. I think there's someone on here that uses that tire combination. I'm anxious to see how it looks when you get it done, I've always liked those wheels.

Im anxious to see too haha... Finding the time and daylight to get anything done is tough. I'll be sure to post a pic as soon as I get around to it.

So today I got to mount my crappy old tires on some crusty old 79 vette slotted mags. They fit just fine, though them 295/50/15's didn't go on without a fight. Plenty of clearance all around and they tucked in a little better. I'll get some more pictures when i get a chance. Here they are for now. I gotta track down some better lug nuts and center caps and put some elbow grease into them. I also put the white letters facing in. Im not sure which way I prefer, though the white letters did go well with the whole ratty 70's motif of the car lol.

I put in a few hours with a green scotchbrite and some barkeepers friend and made some good progress. They realy need to be sanded and polished. Maybee I can justify that kind of effort after a fresh paint job. For now, the wheels match the cars "patina" lol.
