Hey just wanted to share my 85 Lesabre that I put a 4.8 ls in. When I was looking into do this I couldn’t find a whole lot of information on what the b body needed for the swap, it’s actually very easy swap lots of room in the engine bay. All I really needed was the Gm performance muscle oil pan( it hangs a few inches below the crossmember but lots of clearance) and ICT motor mount plates. The motor mount plates use the stock sbc clamshell mounts and the stock location on the frame. I’ve got a th350c with a shift kit. The TH350 is just about the same length as the 200r4 that came out of the car originally but the trans mount is further ahead so you have to move the trans crossmember up a bit. The engine is just a stock gen 3 4.8 with a Holley single plane and carb, with the msd 6010 ignition box. The thing screams make real good power is like to get a cam for it in the future. It’s got the 7.5 with 2.73 gear right now but I had an 8.5 and 3.42s to swap in.

Re: 85 Lesabre LS swap
That thing looks clean. I don't see many LeSabre's around my area, nobody really saved them like the caprices or olds 88's. It's nice to see someone out there rocking the buick.

Re: 85 Lesabre LS swap
Beautiful car! I'm planning a 5.3 swap in my 83 Caprice soon too but I'm using the 4L60 from the donor truck, and already have the 8.5" 3.08 posi rear in my car. I'm also keeping the stock ECM and EFI just as it was in the truck. It'll be stock but. 285hp is better than 150.

Got my 8.5 with 3.42s under the car. Had to shorten the driveshaft an inch, just did it with a grinder with cutoff disc no vibrations or anything I’m pleased with it
