Well my heart was crushed this evening when driving my hotrod 1978 impala stoped to get gas and as I was closing my hood a guy back into my passenger side fender. Very bummed so my question is does a 77-79 fender fit or is their a different option beside the junk yard.

Re: fenders questions
Do they have a place were you can get them new or is it only junk yard searching?

Re: fenders questions
Oh man, I hate to hear that. Is the fender not fixable at all? Got any pictures of it? I had a hard time finding a passenger fender for mine as well. I lucked out and found a complete car in the junkyard 2 hours south of me and I went and stripped the car for fenders and a load of other extra parts.
Take your fender off and take it to local body shops and see what they say. They might even find you a fender through one of their "hotlines" they have. They are not made aftermarket, but you can usually find a NOS one once in awhile on Ebay, but they are high and most of those sellers won't ship these.

Re: fenders questions
You should be able to find a used one on Ebay or even buy a whole car sometimes very cheap. NOS fenders are not cheap usually. I have seen them go for 250-450. Used ones probably can be picked up for around 50-125 in pretty nice shape.

update
A little update on the disaster I got two front fenders for under 100 bucks. But I have a question about the head light housing is the caprice the same as the impala bc the impala has the turn signal on the bottom of them for a 1978 Impala?

Re: fenders questions
If you get the whole front clip along with all the headlight hardware itll fit, but mixing parts wont fit. Everything under both the impala and caprice is the same, so the parts will bolt on both models, youll just need the other parts to complement it like the whole front clip. If you put those 78 impala lights on youll have two sets of turn signals, since you already have them in the bumpers.

Sorry I worded it wrong I have a 78 impala but is the caprice housing the same as the impala? If so can I transfer the turn signals to the caprice housings?

Re: fenders questions
Ohh gotcha, unfortunately no, the 77 and 78 impala were the only ones to have the turn sigs under the headlights the rest had them in the bumpers, You'd have to get a caprice front clip with the headlight buckets, and then a bumper for the turn sigs. Your pretty much confined to two years for those parts. Sweetseventy9 has quite a few parts for the 77 78 impalas. You can check to see if he has what you need https://www.gmbbodyforum.com/t74-lots-of-77-79-parts-new-and-used
