May be switching back to the qjet the edelbrock its giving me fits
1) the left idle mixture screw would get stiff halfway threaded down Removed and Cleaned had debris on threads and powdery white on needle(alcohol?) Left was 5 turns out right was 7 turns out (1"turn" =180 degree) retuned the carb when from fluctuating 15-16"HG to almost 22" HG
2)Post hot shutoff carb get too hot and fuel pushed through to the bowl, overfills it and leaks at throttle shaft
3)New issue came home from work and parking on the hill car was running ok snapped the throttle and started to get rougher and rougher like a lopey idle the stalled and hard to restart 1,2,3 crank and she turns over but same result lopey then stalls
Noticed the radiator had a slow leak (corrosion and dried coolant visible) ordered a new one already and this will obviously help keep engine cool.
Right now i have an aluminium dual plane open split intake, aluminium spacer with phenolic insert.
Will switch to the insulating spacer they provided.
Purchased a heat proof sleeve for fuel line.
I am not sure my vacuum lines are hooked up right
I am starting to think the efe is suppose to hook up to the right side(manifold vacuum) of the carb
The manual says the left (ported) is for "emission equipped distributor" and right (manifold) is for egr
Thats how I have it right now but am thinking the efe has to be manifold vacuum.
Will someone with a California ran 1400 edelbrock help me out??!!
Marx3 I am gonna fix the qjet like i should of the first time
I sent cliff a email when u suggested I contact them but still have not gotten a response.
I would appreciate all the info you can give me to set to up correctly.
I am torn between the two since the edelbrock it feels like it more aggressive and can smoke tires hard and almost instantly
Never had that happen with the qjet it can smoke tires...if u wait a little but the car was much smoother and tame with the qjet.
