Backstory:
I have the option of purchasing a 1994 9c1 rear for $300 or the full car with LT1 and 4l60 for $750. I was able to drive the car for about 25 feet in a wrecking yard after whacking the starter for a couple minutes. Then it died and couldnt get it back started. Car did shift to reverse and then drive, can't say much past that it moved. Has 208K on the odometer, has the rear disc but is a NON posi/lsd 3.08.
I was already going to be purchasing a floor pan before i put down new carpet in the next few weeks, which I had one lined up for $70.
So taking the $750 - $70 for floor pan I had just located since the 9c1's floor is great and I can use that one. What would end up amounting to an extra $680, I can get a 8.5 NON posi rear with disc, kinda running LT1, the 4l60 trans with the HD upgrades, the whole extra car to snag parts off off and then scrap/trade/sell when done.
Here's a link to the car: Yes it says 3.41 in add but RPO code says 3.08 and no G80 code.

Current questions:
Before I get a 9C1 paper weight in my yard I just wanted to see if anyone had any other +'s / -'s to getting the whole car versus just the rear. Would $ be better spent just to wait and find a 94-96 SS/Caprice disc rear with working lsd/posi? Would I feel much difference with the 3.08 vs 2.73 gears? Would it be an easy switch to the 5x5 hub up front as well to match the rear? Any other things you may be aware of that Im over looking? Thank you for any input.
